Our Priorities

With over 2.4 million people living in West Yorkshire, our region is one of the most diverse in the country

Sitting in the heart of the North, it has fantastic cities, towns, villages and rural communities – and many more people want to call West Yorkshire home. Around 85,000 households across the region are on waiting lists for housing and it’s our aim to build more than 1,000 new homes a year to help tackle this need.

These ambitions contribute to our shared vision for a sustainable future that benefits all our region’s diverse communities. The four priorities bring a strong focus on inclusive growth to ensure those facing disadvantages are given the opportunities they need to thrive.
