Social impact and community prosperity

As housing providers, we’re far more than just landlords

We work with local authorities to reduce and prevent homelessness and improve mental and physical health outcomes for our customers. We also work together to reduce health inequalities, support independent living for older people, and provide safety and security for those who need it most.

The challenges of an ageing population and increasing homelessness make the need for action more urgent than ever. And as a healthy population is also a more productive and prosperous one, the benefits are not just for people and communities, but also for the local economy.

We are working closely with partners to understand what specialist housing is required for those with additional needs. For example, we’ve been trailblazers in our support for the West Yorkshire’s Dementia Ready Housing Taskforce to ensure people live happily and safely in their homes for as long as possible.

Keeping our communities safe is a key part of ensuring prosperity. We’ve piloted Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping to identify communities where targeted action on anti‑social behaviour and neighbourhood management would have the biggest impact.
